Thoughts on Women Driving AND Preaching
I just watched a programme about women not being permitted to drive in Saudi Arabia nor do many other things it prompted this... When Jesus, the Word Incarnate (John 1:1-18) in a garden on the first day of the week while it was still dark (John 20 context for Jews - the 'first day of the week' RECALLS CREATION BEGINNING particularly 'amid darkness' Genesis 1:2 the earth was formless and void AND DARKNESS COVERED the face of the deep) so on that day which recalls the first Creation in darkness Mary fetches two men... BUT it is to Mary in a garden still dark that the incarnate WORD GIVES COMMAND the WORD - now enfleshed - who spoke Creation into being in Genesis 1 "and God said" that same WORD says John 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” He commands a WOMAN -not the two men she fetched the WORD incarnate in this garden in his new resurrected body gives the command to announce to proclaim the rule of new creation to a woman a stunning proclamation of ASCENSION of new rule of authority John 20:17 Jesus said to HER HER “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers (male persons) and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” In a garden John 20:17 Jesus said to her, "Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” John says it was still dark (John 20:1) the WORD incarnate gives a COMMAND TO A WOMAN a command to tell the men TO TELL THE MEN of HIS exaltation to rule the ascension the new-creating WORD incarnate heralds his ascension his authority through the proclamation of a woman through the proclamation of a woman please do not defy the WORD incarnate now risen and tell me women cannot proclaim to men the good news the word of God that Jesus now rules the risen WORD incarnate commanded otherwise and they can drive too Let's pray women in Saudi Arabia will encounter the risen now exalted WORD incarnate and know patriarchy has been overthrown while not yet do we see everything subject to HIM but new light is breaking in
