Do you have a favourite Bible passage? If so, what is it and why?
Phil 3:7-11. I love the focus on Jesus, and this keeps me going when things are tough.
How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus?
I keep returning to Scripture. I can read passages I know really well and still be amazed afresh about a further and deeper understanding of Christ.
You've published a chapter within a fantastic book, God's Yes to Women. What would you like the next generation of Christian women to know?
My chapter is quite vulnerable, speaking about difficulties I and other women encounter. This may seem odd to some who want to be inspired. However, I want us as Christian women to grapple with reality. I feel like it is so easy to forget the consequences of women - or anyone - being sidelined and oppressed, and this means we will fall back into destructive ways. Our God is one of truth - and so I want us as women as we fix our eyes on Jesus to be courageously able to see truth and speak it.
What’s one thing that you love about your local church?
I am senior pastor of my local church. I love how women and men are truly in partnership at my church.
What did you learn about God during a time in your life that you found hard?
I learnt that God is FOR me. Even when I am not for me!
What are you passionate about?
So many things! I tend to only have two settings - don't care, or very passionate. If I was to sum up, I would say I am passionate about God - Father, Son and Spirit - and this overflows in so many ways in terms of love for others, love of justice, love of truth - I could keep going.
What do you enjoy doing when you rest?
I like baking cakes, cuddling my cat and reading/watching stories. Basically, if God hadn't called me, you would find me cosying up at home like a Hobbit.
