5 minutes with Gabi

Tell us a little about yourself

I am a wife and mum to 2 adult children Matt and Sally and a rather big black rambuncious dog Charlie! I am a Clinical Nursing Facilitator (part time) and love teaching my students holistic care by the bedside. I am also the President of Nurses Christian Fellowship of Australia and this opportunity has lead me to teach Spiritual Care in the Critical Care Context to nursing and medical students in Fiji, Taiwan, Copenhagen and throughout Australia.

I feel very privileged to have these opportunities and God given experiences. I also serve on a medical ship from time to time giving emergency, routine and maternal care to our incredible neighbours in Papua New Guinea. I have another coming up soon!

What's your favourite bible passage & why?

Favourite Bible passage would have to be John 10:10. My heart is to build our younger generation especially in the health care field up with the gifts and talents already within them. How can we go past - "Christ came to give us life - and life to the fullest”?!

How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus?

After 5 years in Bible College I have fallen SO in love with God the Father, Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit. Friends, worship and great teaching are an anchor for keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus.

What would you like the next generation of Christian women to know? You have all you need for every situation.

Nothing in your path has taken the Lord by surprise!

Perhaps…. you were born for a moment such as this. :-)

What's one thing that you love about your local church?

The thing I love about my local church is the community. We have had the long privilege of doing births, deaths and marriages together.

We have all laughed, cried and loved our way through life embracing the highs, the lows, the fabulous and the messy.

A girl could not ask for more in her faith journey.

What did you learn about God at a time in your life you found hard?

God has taught me He is present, always was and always will be.

His presence and power in recent challenges has been breath taking for me.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about rising our next generations well into their fullest measure of God’s lavish love. I relish the opportunities He has given me to come alongside many beautiful young women. They are gorgeous, teachable, loveable, stunning, empowered and ready.

What do you enjoy doing when you rest?

I am definitely a beach girl. The summer sun charges me and it is my happy place.
