5 minutes with Cyndie ...

Tell us a little about yourself We moved to Windsor just over 12 months ago and live in a little cottage on a quiet lane, near the middle of town. The trees are spectacular and I love sitting on our deck, taking in the view and thanking God for His amazing blessings. My amazing husband, Greg, and I have been married for 34 years and we share 4 children and 9 grandchildren. What's your favourite bible verse and why? One of my favourite Bible verses is Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God..." The assurance and gentleness of God's care for us and His willingness to take our struggles, always encourages me. I'm currently summarising a Beth Moore Bible study called "A Woman's Heart God's Dwelling Place" which looks at all the symbolism of the Old Testament Tabernacle and how it points to Jesus. Every day there is a new insight to gain into God's perfect plan. How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus? To keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, I try to spend time with God every day because He invites us to. The imagery of gathering the manna of His grace, blessing and equipping for each new day helps me sort priorities and know His peace (concept from my Bible Study). What's one thing you love about your local church? We have only just joined our local Church, St Matthew's so are still getting to know the people and opportunities to serve. They are an extremely welcoming congregation and I'm excited to see how I can serve the vision to "be a credible presence of Jesus Christ in the Hawkesbury." What did you learn about God at a time in your life you found hard? During difficult times, I have learned that there is nothing more comforting than to know I can be still and God is working things out, even though I can't always see it. My job is to wait on His answers and trust His faithfulness. What are you passionate about? I'm passionate about encouraging others because I know the power of that through those who have encouraged me over the years! That encouragement has taken many forms - words, cards, texts, little gifts, and usually, in God's grace, at the very time I've needed it most. What do you enjoy doing when you rest? Spending time with my family and watching our precious grandchildren grow and develop is a joy. I'm also loving establishing a garden (and having time to water and tend it) and planning some travel - life is good and I'm very thankful."
