5 minutes with Jenny

Tell us a little about yourself: I am a Music Teacher, I am married, have 4 children – 3 girls 22, 20 and 18 and a boy 15. What's your favourite bible passage & why? I have a few favourites that I always go back to but one that gives a good perspective and reassurance for me would be Philippians 4:4-9. I can focus my thoughts to where they are most helpful when I follow what this says. How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus? Spend time contemplating His words and praying, go to church and meet up with others during the week for encouragement. What would you like the next generation of Christian women to know? They are already perfect as they are in God’s eyes but keep trying and “pressing toward the goal”. What's one thing that you love about your local church? I love the diversity of people – different ages, cultures, backgrounds, abilities – and the way everyone blends together with a single purpose in a community focussed on worshipping God. It’s amazing! We are always trying to better look and reach outwards, being Jesus in our local community. What did you learn about God at a time in your life you found hard? God’s understanding and plan is much bigger and better than ours. What are you passionate about? I love education. I get a buzz when I teach children in my workplace and see that spark in their eyes when they learn something or figure something out for the first time. It’s a real privilege to be able witness that. What do you enjoy doing when you rest? I find rest in long distance running, nature and watching period dramas on TV.
