5 minutes with Linda

Tell us a little about yourself

I've been on this earth for half a century and have been blessed with a fabulous husband and two sons that I'm immensely proud of. I own a business, publish a magazine and have a passion for learning and relationships.

What's your favourite bible passage & why?

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

It reminds us of how special we are to God. It also brings great responsibility. Not the least of which is to ensure we recognize and use our God given gifts to serve others to the best of our ability.

How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus?

I pray most mornings. I thank him for all the little things and the big that happen daily. I ask for his help. I get cranky with him sometimes and then listen for his reply. I am greatful for my life, nature and my relationships. I work hard to be the best I can be, to make sure I learn and grow so I can continue to serve others.

What would you like the next generation of Christian women to know?

That there are many ways to serve God. I only recently realized that I help others in my own special way and it's just as valuable as the works done by those at the coal-face.

What's one thing that you love about your local church?

That they are loving and kind and wait with open arms.

What did you learn about God at a time in your life you found hard?

That he is definitely there for me and answers my prayers. He brought me immense comfort and gathered people around me that would support and nurture me in my time of need.

What are you passionate about?

I'm passionate about helping others through connection. Be it in my business, just a phone call to say hi. Following my dream which turns out to be a facilitator of my gift for connecting people.

What do you enjoy doing when you rest?

I love to read fiction and non-fiction researching historical figures and seeing their connections to others. Spending time with friends, family and colleagues and laughing lots. Chatting with my boys (rare and precious these days) and snuggling on the couch next to hubby and the dog!
